Das Trio Koch - Schütz - Studer, das mit Musikern aus ganz unterschiedlichen Genres (aus der DJ-Szene, aus Ägypten und Kuba) zusammengearbeitet hat, schafft auf einmalige Weise ein Beziehungsgeflecht der Klänge, eine Verkettung flexibler Formen, eine Poesie des Vorläufigen. Eingebunden in diesen flirrenden Kontext findet sich nun die Vokalartistin Shelley Hirsch, die einmal sagte, der Körper sei das grösste Aufzeichnungs- und Speichermedium.

Shelley Hirsch aus Brooklyn, NY, gilt als eine der herausragendsten Sängerinnen der Improvisierten Musik. Sie ist eine unorthodoxe Allianz aus Vokalistin, Komponistin und Performancekünstlerin. Seit den 80er Jahren besteht eine Freundschaft von Shelley Hirsch mit Hans Koch und Martin Schütz. So war sie Teil der von den zwei Bielern zusammen mit Butch Morris gegründeten legendären Gruppe X-Communication. «Die Improvisation, diese Emphase und Inspiration des Augenblicks mit ihrer Unergründbarkeit artistischer Passion, verleiht den Ideen eine tönende Form», schreibt der Musikkritiker Harry Lachner in den Linernotes. «… lust- und humorvoll, lasziv und widerspenstig.»

The trio Koch-Schütz-Studer which has over the last years repeatedly collaborated with musicians from totally different genres (from the DJ scene, from Egypt and Cuba), ceates a web of sounds, a poetry of the transitional. Now integrated within this shimmering context of pure emphasis on the immediate, is the New York vocal and lyric artist Shelley Hirsch who once said that the body is the largest recording and storage medium.

Shelley Hirsch, based in Brooklyn, NYC, is one of the most astonishing vocalists of improvised music. She is not only a singer, but a composer and performance artist as well. Since the 80s she has fostered a friendship with Hans Koch and Martin Schütz. She was part of the ensemble X-Communication which the two Swiss men had founded with Butch Morris. The jazz critic Harry Lachner writes about the the music of Koch-Schütz-Studer with Shelley Hirsch:
