| Infos EN In August 2023, guitarist Elliott Sharp met with fellow guitarists Sally Gates and Tashi Dorji in his Manhattan recording studio. Ere Guitar celebrates the great art of the guitar, played by musicians who seek new paths and create the current sound of the day. “The line-up of the album Ere Guitar initially ties in with its predecessor Err Guitar with Mary Halvorson and Marc Ribot (Intakt CD 281). Here, too, we meet a trio chosen by Elliott Sharp, whose focus is on spontaneous improvisation. Although the compositional element was greater on Err Guitar and reduced to a minimum on Ere Guitar, these two albums are in no way complementary. Together they recount the search for the unexpected, the unheard, for a formal and tonal complexity that develops from the encounter of three creative musicians”, writes Harry Lachner in the liner notes. |
| Infos DE Im August 2023 traf sich der Gitarrist Elliott Sharp mit den Gitarrist*innen Sally Gates und Tashi Dorji in seinem Aufnahmestudio in Manhattan. Ere Guitar zelebriert die grosse Kunst der Gitarre, gespielt von Musiker*innen, die neue Wege suchen und den aktuellen Sound der heutigen Zeit kreieren. «Das Album Ere Guitar knüpft in der Konstellation zunächst an den Vorläufer Err Guitar mit Mary Halvorson und Marc Ribot (Intakt CD 281) an – auch hier begegnen wir einem von Elliott Sharp ausgewählten Trio, dessen Schwerpunkt auf der spontanen Improvisation liegt. Obwohl der kompositorische Anteil in Err Guitar grösser war, er auf Ere Guitar hingegen auf ein Minimum zurückgenommen ist, sind diese beiden Alben nicht komplementär.
