Intakt Records Archive:
A Living Cultural Repository

For over forty years, we’ve been the guardians of a remarkable musical legacy: articles, photos, stories and recordings that chronicle our founders, our artists and the extraordinary moments they’ve created. The Archive isn’t a static vault—it’s a living, breathing history, continually enriched and reinterpreted by us, by you, and by future generations of listeners, students and young musicians.

OUR MISSION

Founded amidst surveillance, censorship and social unrest,
Intakt Records has always been about creative defiance.

Passing the Torch: Empowering the Musicians of Tomorrow

By making our archive intuitive and accessible, we will empower young people, music students and emerging artists to more easily discover, learn and create from our collective heritage.

Stewardship of Four Decades of Music Development

We collect and protect defining pieces —from flyers to press clippings — so nothing of significance is lost to time.

Community-Powered Growth

This Archive belongs to everyone who’s ever been part of our journey. We tap into the collective passion of listeners, photographers, writers and contributors to build something richer together.

Roots of Resistance

Founded by anarchistic cultural ambassadors in Zürich during the politically turbulent 1980s—amidst surveillance, censorship and social unrest—our label’s history is a testament to creative defiance. Today, as the world stands on the cusp of new political revolutions, Intakt’s story offers lessons in courage, solidarity and the power of art to challenge the status quo.
