This music combines a number of concepts. Irène Schweizer, by following the jazz tradition of blending her own style with quotations and references, for many years repeatedly referred to Ragtime, a prototype of jazz. Who else but Han Bennink could follow her better? Their interplay is fast, artistic, full of images, facets and technical means from any epochs of jazz. It is not of optional eclecticism. Both are strong characters, different, but completing each other.
Although their music reflects the past and the present of jazz, it is essentially personal. That is its strength. This Duo-CD is the fifth Piano-Drums- Recording of the Swiss Piano Player Irène Schweizer.
