WILLSAU JAZZ FESTIVAL
Like every year at the end of August, the Intakt team heads to the quaint little town of Willisau in the Lucerne hinterland. The festival has long been an established institution in the world of jazz and improvised music, and this year it celebrated its 50th anniversary. We would like congratulate founder Niklaus “Knox” Troxler and the current festival organizers for their tireless commitment to music.

Intakt Records has had a close relationship with the festival for many years and our catalog has numerous recordings from the festival, with covers designed by Niklaus Troxler including Cecil Taylor's legendary piano solo concert (Intakt #072).

An overview of all Intakt releases from Willisau can be found here.

Highlights from the festival included Ohad Talmor's Back to the Land, (Intakt #408) a quintet that captivated the packed hall on Thursday. And on Sunday, there wasn't a dry eye left in the house after the duo Sofia Jernberg and Alexander Hawkins (Intakt #420) stirred up all our emotions.

We look forward to the coming years and wish the festival all the best for the future!

(Pictured: Ingrid Laubrock, Florian Keller and Ariane Pollo)

On Sunday August 31, the Intakt board and office team met to exchange ideas and celebrate Florian Keller's 10th anniversary and Anja Illmaier's 15th anniversary at Intakt Records. It was a particular treat to have Ingrid Laubrock present and as always, Rosmarie and Patrik treated everyone to a mouthwatering spread.

SLOW CRAWL SUNDAY:
BANDCAMP LISTENING PARTY FOR GREGG-BELISLE CHI'S LATEST RELEASE
What better way to end the week than listening to some luscious guitar sounds from Gregg-Belisle Chi among friends. Tim Berne was of course active in the comments on Bandcamp and this beautiful record fittingly accompanied the last remnants of Summer.
